 As you can see, the box packaging is different from what I had brought previously. This one is in 30ml and the one available in Singapore is 50ml.

I usually prefer my primer to be tinted but this translucent gel amazed me.

Almost immediately, my face turned into a flawless canvas and my strawberry-like pores disappeared.  Its thin consistency is weightless and my skin feels velvety soft. My complexion looks incredibly smooth and my foundation glides on easily thereafter. Serving as a base, it helped my makeup to stay on fresher and lasted longer.

Thanks to its great blurring power,  a second is all I need to create an illuision of a clear, smooth complexion and now I could even skip makeup on lazy days!

Olala Rolling Up Mascara & Olala Corset Pact

If not for the Korean wordings on the boxes, I could have easily mistaken Olala for some western cosmetic brand. Its loud and bold packaging is a huge contrast against the usual Korean’s very soft, pastel, floral or even cutsy kind of stuff and if it is screaming for attention, it surely got mine!

Olala Rolling Up Mascara

Compare to the mascara’s shiny purple and green packaging, the wand itself is nothing fanciful. The slightly curved bristle brush is pretty standard looking but I was surprised by how it could separate my lashes and give them a thorough, clump-free coating that lengthen and volume all at the same time.  

It reaches to even the tiniest lash, the color is intensely black and instantly, my lashes appear thicker and longer with just one coat.  It is highly water resistance and my curls stayed throughout the day, smudge-free.

Despite its high resistance and long staying power, it is surprisingly easy to remove.  I have tried removing with fluid eye makeup remover and all-in-one oil cleanser and it has responded very well to both. It dissolved and transferred itself completely onto the cotton pad and left no spidery residues or unsightly traces after washing.

Olala Corset Pact

I always believe that the purpose of using face powder is to set my makeup and not to my cover makeup so I only have one thing to ask for from my face powder: be as invisible as possible.

Fulfilling my expectation by making itself hardly noticeable once applied onto my face, this compact went on to surprise me with its super fine texture. It allows the skin to breath and will not clog pores. I like the fact that it is a non-shimmer and I like how it hides my enlarged pores while sealing my makeup to provide a smooth, flawless and matte finish.

Brillantereve Lip Tint and Yadah Sweet Milky Tint

I am never a bold lip color kind of person because I don’t have a pair of well-defined lips to begin but I am obsessed lip tints, or rather, the girlish just-bitten look that only lip stains could provide.

Unlike lipstick that gives a strong color and lip gloss that is so light that it disappears the moment you step out the door, lip tint stains your lips with just a tint of long wearing color that make your pouts looking irresistibly kissable.

Other than applying on the lips, I love using lip tints in place of a blusher on the cheeks to fake that natural flushed, rosy look.

Here I have tested out two lip tints from ibeaute:

Brillantereve Lip Tint

The color looks intense in the tube but gives me a very soft and nice color stain when applied. The applicator picks up just the right amount for the whole lips and the liquid content felt feather light and soothing on my dry lips. It is fast drying and the color doesn’t bleeds, smudges or transfers to my cup and lasted for hours.

Its light and liquidly texture makes it a good cheek stain too.

In comparison, Yadah Sweet Milky Tint has a creamier texture so more attention is needed when applying on the cupid bow and edges to avoid bleeding. The candy-like color turns into a very natural color stain when applied. It is pretty long lasting and my lips felt comfortable and moisturized.

CHANEL LE CRAYON LÈVRES PRECISION LIP DEFINER – – SONIC PINK

This is so far the cutest color I ever have in my makeup stash!

As its name “Le Crayon Levres Precision Lip Definer” implies, this creamy textured pencil offers a precise application and I like how I could effortlessly define and instantly emphasize my otherwise thin and mean pair of lips. As the crayon contains silicones and Vitamin E, application is extremely easy and the built-in brush helps to blend the color for a smooth and full coverage.

It is highly pigmented with a very intense hue and while the matte finish is good to serve as a base for lipstick to stay in place, I find the color so lovely that I would rather just seal it off with a clear gloss.

While putting it on test, it survived a session of high tea with the girls, a packet of chocolate cookies in the evening with a few glasses of water in between and only reducing to a pale stain after my dinner at 9pm. For one who would usually ‘eats’ away my lipstick within the first hour of application, I must say that the staying power of this lip pencil is very impressive.

Oh, there is even a double-bladed sharpener that comes with the lip definer too.  So, what’s more can one ask for?

Nature Republic Fly to the Moon Eye Shadow

When comes to eye colors, I am conservative. And boring. I tend to gravitate towards neutral shades and matte finish. Even at my adventurous most, it is a tint of pink so when I was apply as the Lifestylepost Brand Advocate for Nature Republic Fly to the Moon Eyeshadow, I was hoping to be awarded the Pink but as luck has it, I got the Purple pot instead.

So, new year new color!

When testing on my hand, I was a little weary about the sparkling glitters and worried that my ‘old’ face can’t carry it off the metallic shimmers..

 Once applied on my eyes, I realized that my worry was uncalled for.  In fact it wasn’t bad at all! Besides that the purple pigment is not too intense so the color is very build-able and wearable, I love  how the pearly purple sheen sparkle subtly and brighten the eyes.

 Being a cream shadow, it has a velvety texture that glides on smoothly during application and I especially impressed by its long lasting power. Though I have worn the shadow without a primer, the color has remained vibrant and crease free after 13 hours of wearing.

KATE Lash Maximizer Eyelash Plus (White)

Unlike my Indian counterparts that are born with flirtatiously long and curly eye lashes, mine’s typically Oriental – sadly short and downward pointing.

In order to get those dolly winks that I fancy, I used to visit the beauty parlor to have my lashes perm every three weeks. When falsies were back into fashion some years ago, I was happy to forego the perm and use lesser mascara but the problem was that falsies tends to get in the way of my spekkies. Then when eyelash extension hit our shores, I was ecstatic! Even though I find it quite cumbersome having to make frequent trips for refilling and like falsies, extension is just as uncomfortable but I continued to endure it for vanity sake until one eye infection that refused to heal. I was forced to quit ‘torturing’ my lashes by the doctor’s order of a complete removal of my extensions and so there I was, back to my old flame and the quest for mascaras that give volume, length and curl continues.

Besides the simple, white packaging, what impresses me more is how the brush is able to pick up just the just amount of the white fluid from the tube and deposit evenly on my lashes. The curved shape has made application effortless and the brush brittles were able to catch even my shortest lashes and lifted them up subtly. 

 I am glad that the fiber is able to adhere to my lashes smoothly without clumping and it dries relatively fast so it does not hindrance the application of mascara over it.

While this base could not offer the volume that I desired, it does help to prep and extend my lashes with a considerably lasting curl for a natural looking finish.

Though it is pretty resistant and has helped my non-waterproof mascara stayed smudge free, yet removal is incredibly easy and it only took me two wipes with my usual eye makeup removal to get everything dissolved.

Touch In Sol My star in the sky BB Cream

With more cosmetic brands are now milking on the latest craze of CC cream, you may be laughing on why I am still writing about BB cream. But hey, before you snort at me, I gotta tell you why this Touch In Sol My star in the sky BB Cream is still one worthy investment.

Being a typical BB cream formula, this cream is still a multi-taker that offers a quick solution that can act as a makeup base, a highlighter or on its own for a nude makeup effect that provides coverage, whitening, anti-aging and sun protection. However, quite unlike its many ancestors that tends to oxidize and has a greyish undertone that will make looks me deadly after a while, what this Touch In Sol My star in the sky BB Cream gives me is a very sheer sheen of glow.  It contains micro hologram pearl that gives this shimmering effect that could somehow conceals the dullness of my complexion and brighten up my skin tone. 

It is remarkably water-resistant too. I have done a patch test on my hand and did not bother to clean it but the cream has remained glittering on my hand a few hours later despite that I have touched water for a couple of times within that period. Like wise, my face makeup has remained intact though I was already sweating buckets after an intense gym workout. With stuff so persistent, I am surprised by how easy it is to remove. I have tried using both cleansing milk and cleansing oil and all it takes was a gentle wipe. It does not leave any residue and my face feel clean after washing. For non-rinse cleanser, it is better to repeat the wiping process at least twice to ensure that your face is thoroughly cleansed though.

Containing active ingredients such as Camomile Extract ,Lavender Extract, Green Tea Extract, PORTULACA OLERACEA (GREEN PURSLANE) Extract, Hydromanil-75560, and Repair Complex CLR, this BB cream is very soothing and I must say that it is impressively moisturizing and I like how it gives me a dewy effect that lasts for long hours.

Its SPF36++ sun protection capability is a bonus too. Because I am lazy bone who would rather stay in between my sheets than to stand an extra minute in front of the dressing table dolling up.

Retailing at SGD$22.90 for a tube of 30ml, the price of Touch In Sol My star in the sky BB Cream is comparable to many Korean BB creams and I would definitely recommend it for a quick and easy fix and those who likes a soft, light-reflecting radiant glow.
