MY  EXPERIENCE

Out of the six branches, I have chosen the Tampines branch for the obvious reason; it is nearer to home.

After being served with a drink, I was ushered to the consultation room and my personal consultant for the day, Vicky took measurements, analyzed my problems and briefed me on the respective treatments: ISS for the back of the thighs to eliminate fats and the unsightly cellulite) and CSBS to reduce, lift and tone my flabby arms, love handle and elephant thighs.

I have to admit that I was a little edgy prior to the treatment because I didn’t know what to expect but thanks to my soft-spoken therapist, my uneasiness was dispersed as quickly as it came. The lady started off the treatment with little massage for different areas with preset timing, ie: 1 minute for the legs, another minute for the hands, 3 minutes for the neck and so forth and I was a little amused by her use of a timer to achieve that precise timing. Anyway, let’s go on the treatment.

INTELECT SPOT SHAPING TREATMENT (ISS)

My thighs were wiped with warm towel and applied with cool ultrasound gel and anti-cellulite serum mixture before using the Intelect Mobile Ultrasound for 9 minutes on each side. Thereafter, the therapist massaged the area with an anti-cellulite serum for 20minutes and then another 20minutes for FMS. In case you are wondering what FMS is, it is the Marie France Bodyline’s signature Fat Mobilisation System (FMS) body wrap that works by encouraging the depletion of heat energy from within the body thereby forcing the body to compensate for the loss of heat energy by tapping into its accumulated storage of fats to “burn off” as energy and boy, this solution soaked wrap was so freezing cold that I was almost shivering!

It was said the compression from the wrap could helps to get rid of impurities and fatty acids through lymphatic drainage so again, I sat for another 20 minutes in the hope to reduce inches, lift and toner with little motion.

MY THOUGHTS AFTER THE TREATMENT

I looked hard at myself while the therapist unwrapped me. Nope. I did not shrink in terms of size but I do somehow looked better in terms of shape. My arms seemed less flabby, my thunder thighs seemed toned and I could get into my pants more easily. I was delighted to be invited to the exclusive CozyCot Inner Circle’s ReFa Carat event. 

 

To be honest, I know very little about this ReFa Carat thingy prior to the workshop but the mention of any beauty gadget is already compelling enough to get me excited, especially so when the event is being held at the prestigious, award winning Ikeda Spa. I have been very curious about this much raved about Japanese concept day spa and of course, the experience did not disappoint. Besides the Japanese elements, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staffs are all clad in Kimono and among them, there are therapists hauled from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and well, Singapore.

The workshop

It was a cozy affair with the beautiful trainer, Ms Jasmine Tham sharing with us what ReFa Carat is before proceeding to do a demonstration on half side of our face. And boy, I was utterly impressed by how much ReFa Carat can do within the 5 minutes demo on me! A captured photo has shown a much lifted and fresher appearance on the treated right side of my face versus the tired and sagging looking skin on the untreated left side. Thereafter, we were given a brief introduction of Ikeda Spa and a sight show round before being ushered to our respective cabin for an express treatment perform by the Ikeda therapist.

My Trial

Well, I believe everything needs time to take its due course and I didn’t expect miracles to happen within a short two weeks span of time. After all, our skin doesn’t just slacken suddenly and wrinkles don’t just form overnight so it is just as impossible to command complete erasure of lines or vanish double chin in thunder speed. Due to the timeframe constraint, I may not be able to attain magnificent results but I must say that I am very happy to achieve visible improvements on the areas that I have faithfully used on twice a day.

 

Oh, let’s not to forget about my arms too! Though I could find a million of faults of my body shape, I simply hate how my gigantic flabby arms are being attached to my narrow shoulders the most and so apart from using the ReFa Carat on my face, I would also do a few quick rolls on my butterfly arms as well and it has unexpectedly, leaped the most result! My arms are still huge (blame it to bad genes) but they are certainly looking more toned and firmed!

To summarize, the areas of improvement are:  

~     Jaw line – sharper and more defined

~     Marionette lines – these lines that used to make me look like an angry puppet has gracefully smoothen and become less visible

~    Eye areas – droopy eye lips appear more lifted, fine lines are smoothen and less visible and under eyes have appear less puffy

~    Face  – overall lifted and looks more youthful and radiant

~    Arms – have become less wobbly and look firmer and leaner

Inside the cabin

Like any other facial treatment would, my therapist, Serene started me off with the removal of makeup. Though I don’t usually wear makeup for my facial appointment to avoid the hassle but because I have headed to the clinic straight from work that day, that poor lady has had a terribly hard time removing off my super resistant eye makeup.

That’s Step 1.  

Step 2 was to cleanse and then introduce me to their inhouse EHA peeling gel to deep cleanse and exfoliate dead skin cells.

Upon analyzing my skin condition, I was suggested with a Radiance Facial Toning treatment. Starting with a 10 minutes of cool steam to soften the skin (that’s something pretty new and interesting because my usual facial treatments mostly use hot mist to open up pores) followed by a quick neatening of eye brows. The reason I said quick is because my eye brows are miserably sparse so there was practically nothing much the therapist can do.

And now, the real action begins and the therapist kicked off the show  (oops, I mean, the facial) with the Aqua ST and then followed by a Radiancy Therapy.  That’s a non-ablative photo rejuvenation that purpose to remove age spots, smoothen fine lines and reduce wrinkles. I was happy as bird when being told that it would also help to firm up my sagging skin and the best thing? The entire process was absolutely painless and has zero downtime.  Hey, whoever says, no pain, no gain, you are  wrong this time!:)

Next up..

Serene first applied Collagen Amp plus Cold Ultrsound and cooed me with a shoulder massage before pampering me with a Cold Collagen Mask and granted me the permission a good whole 20 minutes of undisturbed eye shut.  

Don’t under-estimate the power of the afternoon nap, I have indeed waking up looking so much revitalized. Or was it the facial?  I simply love how fresh and radiant I look immediately after the medi-facial and for the record, the result has got even better the day after and stayed that way for quite a bit.

Impressive! No matter people say doctor knows best 🙂

Chinos Spa

When I turned up at the Chinos Spa for ‘The Imperial’  & ‘The Refreshing’ treatment at 11.00am on a weekday morning, I was surprised to find an empty the reception desk. I waited for a while before deciding to ring their telephone to get attention and indeed, a therapist came out immediately.

I was told to have a seat and hang on while she prepares for my treatment. I find it weird that there isn’t any reception or customer service staff on the front desk and there was a lack of piping and aromatherapy scent too. Nonetheless, by the time when I am done with the treatments, there were already two customer service officers sitting at the desk, the area was lightly scent and soothing piping music was also playing softly on the background.

I must salute Chino Spa for offering customers a membership programme instead of hard selling spa packages. It is undoubtedly the most pleasant and relaxing experience that I have ever encountered in spa centres and I really love that I am not being forced to sign up the so-called special prices packages after treatments. Apart from that, though the therapist has single-handedly handled all my treatments, which are: massage, putting water for my Jacuzzi Soak and facial, she was remarkably professional and ensured that I am comfortable throughout the session.
