It all began with my skin losing its firmness and elasticity but during that time I was too busy fighting with the sudden breakouts due to hormonal imbalance to notice it.

Then fine lines, one by one, creepily forming into a fleet of army and crawled onto my skin silently. Before I knew it, they have already marked their territory but instead of preventing their settlement into wrinkles, I have rebelliously thought that a few lines may even helps my chubby baby face looks a bit wiser.

Nope, I am not implying that these products are not worth the dollars, in fact I buy the explanation from the many beauty advisors of their own respective brands that their products have failed to deliver their promised miracle is because my poor dehydrated skin has difficulty absorbing them.

Or was that so?

My blind faith of buttering on moisturizer religiously was a little shaken when attending a beauty workshop and heard the celebrity makeup artist saying that moisturizing is actually not necessary, especially in the climate of ours.

Then while flipping through a women’s magazine at the hair salon the other day, I cam across an article quoting Dr. Obaji with the same theory, claiming that moisturizer has no long term effect on our skin at all.

To moisturize or not to moisturize?

I was confused but at the same time I was secretly hoping that my newly acquired information could make sense. God knows how time consuming it is to apply layers after layers and how much money I have wasted all these years on such moisturizing stuff.

So I decided to give the theory a run.

On the first day after the skipping the last step of my skincare regime the night earlier, I woke up without feeling much of a difference on my skin. However, my makeup has refused to adhere properly and my skin felt tight and uncomfortable after washing at the end of the day.

On the second morning I woke up with my face slightly oily probably due the skin’s own sebum secretion to protect itself from the drying air-condition. The pores around my nose area were visibly more noticeable and again, I have a hard time putting on makeup.

By the fifth day, lines and wrinkles have obviously deepened and my skin had become so parched and dry that it started to itch and flake.

My conclusion: Moisturizer by itself may not have any long-term impact and normal skin may do without it but for dry and dehydrated skin, a skincare product with hydrating properties is a savior. Since damaged skin has difficulty retaining its own moisture, a topical moisturizer would help to at least replenish and trap moisture while acting as a form of protection layer against exterior stressor.

O’Kaire Perfect Moisture Control Essence

Has anyone heard of O’Kaire Perfect Moisture Control Essence before? 

I have got together with some masks and other beauty stuff from Taiwan some months back and had totally forgotten about it until re-packing my stuff recently. 

It came a purple box but I must have threw away its packaging while trying to maximize my luggage so I am left with the bottle without any clue of what’s within the glass or how it should be being used. Anyway, since it is an essence, I reckoned that it is going to be after the toner and before the serum. 

In any case, the reason I have bought it was because I was attracted by those pearly crystal little spheres within the bottle and was curious to find out how it actually works.

 Well, it disperses into clear liquid when being pumped out. It feels more like a serum than an essence and has a smooth velvety texture.

 I have to admit that I did not hold high hopes of it initially but I was amazed by how quickly it soothed and quenched the thirst of my dehydrated skin even on my first application. Normally, my terribly sensitive skin would react a little whenever a new product is being introduced but this time it was going on fine and there was no irritation, no redness and no breakouts. 

It is ultra soothing and I like how it forms a protection layer that locks in moisture and prevents my skin from drying out. It does not hindrance the absorption of the other creamy stuff that I layer on top of it and I notice that because my skin is more hydrated, my makeup glides on more smoothly and stays on better too.

Exilis Treatment Review

Earlier this morning I was walking into the hotel’s life and found myself grinning from ear to ear like a silly little girl at the lift’s wall mirror.

My face was bared and free from makeup after my final Exilis treatment and I was utterly please with what I saw.

I ought to.

I have flew to Taiwan straight after my 1st treatment and this photo was taken a day after. Silly me has forgotten to take down my sunnies for a better facial view but then, my face was already looking brighter and fresher.

And this photo was taken right after the last installment of my treatment inside my hotel room at Hoilday Inn Express. It was a far cry from how I looked 14 days ago. Not only that my face is more symmetrical and sharper, it is so much fresher and youthful looking.

Line Lift Step 1 – Aminofil™ Activator

Aminofil™ is a patented compound by NeoStrata that has the ability to plump up skin 4 times more than inactive substance. Patented NeoCitritate™ and NeoGlucosamine enhance the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid respectively, reversing the evidences of facial expressions such as crow’s feet, frown lines and laugh lines. Fortified with optical blurring agents, immediately improve the appearance of lines, filling up the deep folds.

What it can do?

It is clinically proven to lift and visibly reduce deep lines and wrinkles such as Frown lines, Laugh lines, Crow’s feet, Under-eye lines and Smoker’s lines.

According to the research and clinical test, the result can be seen as early as in 4 weeks and follow by a steady percentage of improvements in the following weeks. The statistic has shown an impressive improvement of 20.3% on the under-eyes lines and wrinkles and 10.3% on laugh lines by week 16.

As I am on the product for less than a week so it is way too early to visualize the real impact but so far the result has been very promising.

Though a two-step application may sounds a little complicated but the actual application is pretty neat and easy.
