Kuriya Fine Dining

Kuriya’s delightful Bento Lunch set  ($52) is one of the few things I always look forward to during the weekend as it is only available on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday and is limited to 20sets per day.

Apart from the beautiful presentation, everything in this exquisite set simply tastes as good as it looks.

Among them, I absolutely love the plate of premium-graded sashimi that consists 2 thickly sliced Salmon, 2 pieces of tuna and another 2 slices of King fish and these fresh slices are really tasty with a dip of wasabi.

I also like how the tempura set is done, the prawns and vegetables are well coated, very fluffy yet not at all oily.

The chawanmushi is another delicious delicacy from the set that is packed with ample ingredients and tasted heavenly with mushroom, chicken, prawn and even lotus seeds!

Likewise, every sip of the miso soup also contained generous bits of tofu, seaweed and other goodies.

I am very much a mushroom lover, but the cooked spinach and mushroom dish tasted a little too rich for my liking.

I find the broth starchy and too salty but the mushroom itself tasted alright though.

Another dish that we like to order when dining at Kuriya is the Beef Paper Pot set ($40) for their fresh thinly sliced beef slices.

Diners can opt for suki-yaki or shabu shabu soup base and the set is served with appetizer, chanwanmushi and a hearty bowl of flavored rice.

All meals in Kuriya start with a bowl of crispy salad of greens, tomatoes and cucumber and end with a dessert of the day and coffee or tea.

On a side note, I am not sure if other fine dining restaurants also prohibit young children from patronizing but there is a notice at the Kuriya Dining shopfront stating that the restaurant welcomes children six years above.
